Q. Are there are any advantages to using free weights over
machines?
A. Yes, there are several advantages to using free weights over
machines. Such as: when using a machine, it is designed to place you in
a
safe and neutral position. This is great for beginners who just want to
get
into resistance training. However, free weights make you use muscles to
stabilize yourself, these stabilizer muscles are called, synergists. When
using free weights, your body will be forced to stabilize itself, thus
working more muscles and achieving greater results. (One must achieve

Q. I am having a hard time losing weight and I have been walking on the
treadmill three days a week for 30 minutes for the past 6 weeks and I
have
not seen any results, what am I doing wrong?
A. First off, diet and exercise need to go hand in hand. To lose weight
you must create a caloric deficit. Meaning, you must burn more calories
than
you consume. But if you wish to achieve maximum results (fat loss) in
the
